I never imagined I would find the love of my life first try

I thought I'd dip my toe in the dating pool again and after being with my ex for 10 years, I had no idea what to expect. I wanted the 'wow', so I trawled through thousands of profiles over a few weeks. I knew what I wanted in my man's personality, but how did I picture him?

Then I received a wink from a guy with dark, brooding looks and I was intrigued. He was cute! His profile made me laugh, and he sounded like a real keeper already. There was something in those gorgeous brown eyes that drew me in. I thought, "You know what? What if this guy's the one and I never gave him a chance?"

We chatted online for a week or two and it was clear there was a real connection. We were both in almost identical situations, recently separated, and his daughter was only a month younger than mine - what were the odds of that? And it was just so easy to talk, every time we messaged I got a stupid grin on my face! He got my sense of humour and I got his - brownie points for that alone!

Then I moved house and was without internet for two whole weeks - longest two weeks of my life! When I finally got back online, I checked his profile again and his location had changed from Melbourne to Far North Queensland! I sent him a frantic message, and he said he'd thought I'd got bored of him when he didn't hear from me, so he had taken a job offer in Townsville! He was leaving in 8 weeks.

We met for a late dinner, and, well - WOW! We hit it off straight away. There was something about this guy. From that night on, we were inseparable. Within two weeks we both knew this was the real thing. We were head over heels in love. And he decided to stay in Melbourne and see where things ended up with us!

Eight months later and we've just moved into our first place together. We've started our own business and work together most days. Our daughters are best friends, and are ecstatic about becoming sisters when Mark and I get married next year. And we are planning a baby very soon after!

I am amazed every day at how life can do a complete 180 turn in such a short time. I never imagined I would find the love of my life first try. And I never dreamed I could be this happy! From the bottom of my very happy heart, I am so grateful for RSVP every day. Without it, we might never have met and I would never have the life I have now.
