Everything just fell into place for Shane and Emily....

emilyAlmost two years ago now I moved down to Geelong from Melbourne with work. It has been a big move given I had never been out of Melbourne's Eastern Suburbs. It was like starting at a new school, few friends, new job role and trying to establish myself in many other ways. After a couple of failed relationships I decided to try RSVP again as a way of meeting new people in town.

I went on a couple of different dates but never really seemed to find that special something. Then, on October 8th 2006 Emily came around after we had chatted almost all day online and most of the night before. From the moment I saw her stumbling down the driveway all dolled up and trying to look her best I was already grinning for some stupid reason.

From that night onwards, we were never apart and Emily ended up finalising her rental arrangements and then moving in permanently with me. By this stage I had bought my new place in Geelong and lucked out trying to find someone to house share with. Everything seemed to be fitting into place perfectly.

emilyAs the days and months passed, we grew more and more in love with one another and both of us actually realised we had stumbled across something often hard to find. In the last 3 months I have organised a beautiful engagement ring and before the year is out, we will be engaged to be married.

In addition to this, approximately 8 days ago we also just found out that we are well on our way to having our first child - a fantastic piece of news to say the least and perhaps a little early but more than a wonderful surprise all the same.

As mentioned earlier, things just keep on falling into place for us. It's really not that hard at all to spend every day with a big grin and the anticipation of returning home again at the end of every day.
