RSVP rocks!

Tuscany & Shane met on RSVPMy husband and I met on RSVP late 2006 and were married on 21st February 09, after a one year engagement.

We were both seeking new beginnings when we joined your site. Shane had been a member for almost a year, while I was only a member for about two weeks when he sent me an email with the free stamp he received for his birthday. I emailed him back and it all went from there.

We emailed for a week or so and then planned to meet up at a nice park in Brisbane. We both had three year olds at the time, one boy and one girl and thought it would be a nice ice-breaker to bring the kids along so that they could play together in the park.

Shane and I chatted comfortably for hours, followed by ice cream at Cold Rock! We both knew that this was probably the start of something, it really was an instant attraction. Over the next few months we became inseparable, and were living together within 6 months. We got engaged on Valentines Day last year, at the park where we met.

We get asked all the time about how we met and we are proud to say that it was on your site. My feeling is that the stigma attached to internet dating really has disappeared for most people. People ask me "weren't you worried that he would be a weirdo?" To this my response is that it takes effort and thought to set up an RSVP profile. It mostly attracts people who genuinely want to find a partner they are compatible with. If you want to just pick up a one night stand you wouldn't do it this way, you would go to the pub.

Shane and I are really compatible, more than I ever thought possible! We attribute finding this great match to your site and and the ability it gives you to be selective with the criteria you desire in a partner. Even little things like not liking someone who smokes can be eliminated with the click of a mouse.

We had an awesome wedding, it was very casual and fun and RSVP got a mention more than once! My husband wrote a poem for me and recited it during the speeches at our wedding. It got a lot of laughs and I thought you might appreciate it. Parts of it are a bit cheeky...

RSVP ROCKS!

Her picture grabbed my attention
So I thought I'd give it a go,
I was giving up on internet dating
But this one looked nothing like a Ho.

So I sent her off an email
Thought my chances were slim to get a reply,
But within 24 hours she was all over me,
Like a fat kid all over a pie.

So we organised to meet up,
The park seemed a good spot,
She had Diego, I had Georgia,
And I was looking hot.

So that was the start of something great,
Within a week she had talked me into sex.
Next thing I knew we were engaged, bought a house,
And a puppy dog named Rex!

It's been two and a half years of total bliss
The time has gone so fast,
Just hope the next 60 odd years
We can surely make them last.

It was early on when I'd met the fam,
And finally loneliness had been given the flick.
I got to meet sister Breezey, Brother Jules, Mum Cherie,
And some weirdo named Nick (Dad!)

A beautiful person, with a beautiful family,
Who could ask for more?
Smart, gorgeous, down to earth
Tuscany, I really think you scored...

We really are a perfect match,
You like to cook, I like to eat.
And I like to watch the footy show
While you massage my feet.

You were an angel sent sent into my life
and you turned it right around,
Before we met I was pretty low,
I'd almost hit the ground.

So for that I truly thank you
Without you I don't know where I'd be,
Probably still sittin' at my computer desk,
Looking for love on R.S.V.P

She squeezes the zits on my back,
Packs my lunch, she even irons my socks!
So I'm here to tell you all,
R.S.V.P ROCKS!!!

We'd like to say good luck to anyone who is currently looking for love. I wouldn't want to pin my hopes on a dating website, but you will never know unless you give it a try.
