Two worlds collided because of RSVP!

jpgBryan & I have just been married for one month. I sometimes have to pinch myself that it has really happened. I perserved with dating through RSVP for over 12 months and I was nearly ready to hit the expiry button. I had met several people, some just ended in tears! Having taken a break for a couple of months I decided to give it one more go. I decided this time to look further afield to my roots - the country!

Back on RSVP as retskysreturn35 I sent a kiss to universeunlimited. The reply was slow, very slow. I thought I'd just wasted another kiss. After a week the emails were flowing and we began to chat a lot on line. I was keen to get things moving along, just so I could work out if this was worth pursuing or not. I gave him my number, but even then I was the one that made the first call. I was probably about to scare him away with my "more front than Myers" approach, but I had nothing to lose.

I was surprised after another week of chatting he informed me he was coming from Melbourne to fly to Sydney and did I want to meet him at the airport? I had no doubts about meeting, though it was a bit unfortunate that it was the "departure" lounge of all places. There was nothing romantic about our first meeting and boy was it awkward! Bryan was so nervous he hardly spoke. I am thankful to this day he brought a friend along with him - she & I remain good friends today.

Our goodbyes at the airport were even more awkward than our meeting, but we fumbled through. I was very unsure when I left the airport, I wasn't sure if anything would come of it. Several text messages later that night and phone calls over the weekend had me saying yes to a real date the following weekend. Thankfully he was able to overcome his shyness and from that following weekend we have never looked back.

Six weeks after our meeting (17th May 2007) I decided to pack up my life and move to my hometown where he was from. It was hard at first, but I knew I had done the right thing. Two years after our first meeting we married and are now planning a family. I am thankful that RSVP had a part to play in this as I don't know if our two worlds would have collided.
