Clubs are not identical; they are available in different lengths, sizes and patterns. In golf, a person can use 14 clubs; hence it is important to gather an effective set of golf clubs.

Clubs are generally available in different types namely - woods, irons, wedges, hybrids. Each club has a unique characteristic in the way it affects ball movement. A player should select a combination of different clubs that is ideally suited to him/her thereby providing the best chance at success.

The type of club to be used, has to be decided based on various factors such as a player's proficiency in the game and physical characteristics. The same club should not be used by a beginner and professional alike.

If you are a beginner and learning to play strokes, you should look at the hybrid type of clubs; these will make the stroke much easier.

Golf clubs are available in different lengths and shafts; to get the right grip size, your ring finger must touch the thumb pad while holding the club.

It is also important to be aware of the material that the club is made out of. Whether it be steel, titanium or graphite, this can influence the flight of the ball. The flexibility of the shaft will also influences the swing of the ball.

The lie and loft angle, along with the weight of the club, also needs to be reviewed when making your choice.
