The romantic Amalfi Coast

This stretch of coast line and gorgeous towns set amongst hidden coves and on breathtaking cliffs is one place that you definitely must visit in your lifetime. Not only will the scenery blow you away but you can also experience everything that you love about Italy... such as the amazing food, flowing wine and great way of life... by the sea.When I visited the Amalfi Coast a few years ago it was all too short but definitely a holiday I won't remember! In one of the coastal towns we decided to get amongst the locals and hire a moped! We rode through the very windy, cliff edge roads, being overtaken by mad vans and cars, just so we could get to one of the Amalfi Coast's little hidden cafes by the water.
Well... the death defying ride paid off with a long lunch consisting of amazing food and plenty of wine. We were even sitting next to a table with a very large Italian family enjoying a celebration Mafioso style; dressed immaculately with beautiful jewellery and double kisses flying around we just couldn't help but soak up the atmosphere.
On another occasion we wandered down an unknown street in one of the more popular towns only to find a tiny little café where not only were all the patrons Italian, but so were all the menus... perfect. The waiter recommended which courses we should have with each glass of wine we wanted to sample (yes, in that order) and we proceeded to have a feast far beyond expectations. When we rolled out of the café several hours later we felt very Italian indeed... and very satisfied!
We had so many amazing experiences on the Amalfi Coast and we barely even touched the surface. This part of the world doesn't take up a very large area but it is certainly overloaded with things to do and amazing places to see... I highly recommend it!
