Thredbo... Australia's best

Skiing and snowboarding in Thredbo

Posted by RSVP on

Thredbo is regarded by many as the best skiing in Australia. It has a fantastic village atmosphere and is one of Australia's leading ski resorts. The village is modelled on a European ski town with quaint lodges, great shopping and top restaurants and night life. Free shuttle buses run on a regular basis between the Valley Terminal, the Village and Friday Flat beginner's area.

Thredbo has 14 lifts (4 hi-speed quads, 5 t-bars, 3 double chairs, and 2 snow runners). With over 50 ski runs, Thredbo has a wide variety of terrain to suit all standards from complete beginners through to seasoned experts. To ensure a consistent snow base, Thredbo has invested in the largest snow making system in the Southern Hemisphere that runs mainly at night to top up the lower half of the mountain and any other high traffic areas.

The longest continual run is from the top of Karel's T-Bar to Friday Flat and is 5.9km long; however, this is composed of several trails. The longest single run is the Crackenback Supertrail, 3.7km long, which is publicised as the longest run in Australia. The hardest run on the mountain is said to be Funnel Web, notorious for its near-vertical middle section.

So, you see there are plenty of reasons to stay in Australia for this Ski season... and get on the mountain at Thredbo!

To make it even more enticing we have a trip to Thredbo for single skiers and snowboarders in July. For just $1,931pp twin share (room mate matching service available) you'll get 5 nights accommodation at Bernti's, 4 nights dinner, lift passes and a welcome get together with drinks for the group. Plus a professional host to make sure everything is the way you like it.

Join us on this fantastic trip with other like-minded singles!
