What would drive you to eat a live worm, hold an alligator or convince a complete stranger to swap clothes with you?

Hundreds do every year, and if you're up for similar adrenaline-fuelled action then here's some tips for the year ahead.

So, its 2009 and you're looking to action your list of resolutions; but rumour has it, even with the best of intentions over 70% of people break their resolutions before the year is up.

Bah humbug if you ask me... this is the year of the 'YES' (or so Jim Carey tells us) and with a little positivity it's easy to make our goals happen.

If your resolutions include trying something new, challenging yourself, meeting more people, having an adventure, and being more daring, then you¿re not alone. Why not use Google to find activities, events and adventure companies in your local area. When you find something you like grab a mate and both book in, that way not only can you encourage each other to make sure you do it, you¿ve set a date to look forward to.

Skydiving, bungee jumping, skiing, diving with sharks... or maybe you're keen to try more sociable adventure activities such as Nokia City Chase - a sort of 'Amazing Race' meets 'Survivor' and 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Outta Here'.

This event will see Sydney and Melbourne transformed in to adventure playgrounds with hundreds of people completing twisted challenges and dares around the city. Ideal whether you're a couch potato or complete fitness fanatic - this adventure race is for everyone, and without doubt one to add to your top-ten-things-to-do-before-you-kick-the-bucket list.

City chase in SydneyAnd the good news for the more lazy among us, you don't have to audition or train, be an athlete or a dare-devil, you simply team up with a buddy (give yourself a quirky team name) register online at www.citychase.com.au, and be ready to have an adrenaline-filled day.

Over 30 cities around the globe will take part in 2009, and get this; taking part could potentially lead you around the globe - the winning Australian team will be invited to compete in the World Championships at a secret international destination. (The 2008 finals took place in the ever exotic location of Marakesh - wow!).

So what have past Nokia City Chase activities involved? Anything from eating a spoonful of wasabi, a live worm and a whole raw onion to using a Volvo car to drive a giant sized soccer ball in between goal posts; eating ice-cubes in a minus-5 degree room; and holding a boa constrictor snake.
