Straight forward, honest, decent
Hi there, I am a fit, normal (well, yes, I would say that), 183cm tall, 48 year old man.
I am well educated and have had a diverse and successful career ranging from being a qualified motor mechanic, completing an arts degree, working as a journalist, magazine editor, political staffer and more recently as a PR and public affairs consultant.
Most of the normal things appeal to me, dinner, movies, BBQs with friends and family, keeping fit and sometimes, all too rarely, just nothing at all.
I have travelled a fair bit and commuting around the country for both work and play has taught me how to travel light and leave behind things that are either unhelpful or no longer required. So, while I have certainly had the emotional dings and scrapes that you would expect of someone in their 40s, I make my way with a small overnight bag rather the full suite of baggage.
I try to play fair and give respect where it is due. I also answer questions particularly honestly after a glass or two of red, so if you have read this far and want to know any more...

What I'm looking for
My ideal girlfriend would be an intelligent, mature, attractive woman at ease with herself and others. I would value her charm, manners and affection. Her involvement in my life would be welcomed with open arms while her resolve to maintain her own interests and identity would be respected.

My interests
- Music
- My taste in music is quite varied, Top 40 to old classics and pretty much anything and everything in between.
- Reading
- Mostly non fiction, newspapers on-line, magazines and so on. I enjoy researching new subjects or interests and can be a voracious reader when a particular project takes my fancy.
- Movies & TV
- I typically like older movies where the script and acting were more important than special effects. I can take or leave TV but I do enjoy shows that are particularly clever, well written and funny.
- Sport
- I am into motorsport and race an historic touring car. I prepare the car which can be almost as rewarding as racing the thing. There is a good social aspect to motorsport as it brings together family, friends and competitors and involves a fair bit of teamwork.
- Other Interests
- I keep up with current affairs and go to the gym a few times a week to keep fit for racing. The exercise also helps my clothes still fit after a couple of beers, a glass of decent red and someting nice to eat.
