Safe Calling

Safe Calling

What is it

What is Safe Calling?
It's another way to contact each other safely and securely. Talk over the phone with any other RSVP member without revealing your phone number.
Why use Safe Calling?
You can use Safe Calling as an additional checkpoint before choosing whether or not to meet face to face - remember, you can tell a lot about people by listening to them speak.
Who is it for?
Members who are serious about their security, we recommend it as part of an additional checkpoint prior to meeting up or even exchanging personal contact details.
How can I set it up?
First step is to register a phone in your Account Details and you're well on your way. Check out the Safe Calling Checklist below to help guide you through the next steps.
When can I start making calls?
Once you have permission from the other member, used a stamp to open a contact channel with them (we recommend sending an email/chat first) and call them during their available times.

How does it work?

When you initiate a call our 'system' will call you on your nominated phone line and then connect you through to the other member anonymously.

checklist before you can start calling...

  1. Register a mobile and/or landline number in Account Details

You need to register at least 1 number to activate safe calling but you can add up to 3 numbers (1 mobile and 2 landlines) depending on your personal preference. Having multiple numbers give you more options when using the service.

  2. Confirm your phone number(s)

Once you have added your phone number(s) in your Account Details and click Submit the system will take you through the confirmation process for each phone number you have submitted.

  3. Confirm your Availability to receive calls

You can add the times you are available to take calls and have them displayed in your Calendar. These times will be made visible to other members that have permission to call you so that they know when they can give you a ring.

  4. Purchase Call Credits and Stamps

To be able to call someone you will first need to have a contact channel open with them (the use of a Stamp) and to make the calls you will need to have Call Credits. We recommend sending them an email first before arranging a call.

  5. Get permission from the other member

Members can choose to accept calls directly or require 'invitations' as a prerequisite. If an invitation is required you will be prompted to send an invitation to the other member when you click the "Call Me" button. Once they approve your invitation their availability times will be visible on your Calendar and you can call them during those times.
