There was once a pigeon who lived in the market place. And did what pigeons do. Pecked at seed, squabbled with other pigeons and generally led a very mundane life. One day she decided to do something different. Wander away from her safety zone. She came upon a large, elegant building. Flying over the imposing staircase she travelled down a hallway. At the very end was a wooden door. Burnished with years of love and polish. Above the door the lintel read "birds of paradise". Curious she entered the room. And yes dear reader, it was a magical door that pidgeons are capable of opening. Lol. Inside the room were the most glorious birds. Rainbow colours, exotic plumage. This cause her to look down at herself for the very first time. She was amazed to see that she shared their colourful feathers. She was a bird of paradise.
And the motto of this story is "don't die trying to be a pidgeon"
