I love discovery and new experiences. I'd love to find a like-minded companion (clever, creative and lefty) to walk side-by-side with - all around the world.

To be really honest, I'd say I'm a bit complicated... a bit restless, often wondering about the world and my place in it. Having said that, I think I'm close to finding my place: I love my work as a psychologist (though still keep close ties with my previous, art, career. And psychology is very creative work too!), have beautiful and inspiring friends, a happy house in Newcastle, a pretty tight family - all things that are important to me. I get a big thrill out of travelling the world and experiencing the different ways we humans live and the beautiful things we can create. I like hanging out with creative, interesting people. In fact I might be a bit of an intellectual snob - but am friendly and accepting and I can get on with anybody. I can be a bit upfront... I prefer clarity to secrets. Honesty, even if its a bit uncomfortable (hey, but not TOO honest!). I exercise a bit - it runs in the family (and good for body and mind) - yoga, pump classes, walking, bicycling. I adore the wild free dancing at 'Just Dance' every Tuesday. Love cinema - and can get very excited about an amazingly realised film eg. John Sayles films (Lone Star); Force Majeure; Spotlight. But eclectic too: can enjoy a Daniel Craig James Bond at Gold Class. Love an interesting, complex fiction book e.g. Wolf Hall. I buy the SMH every Saturday and nowadays read about a quarter of it. I attend rally's for things important to me: workers, aboriginal, refugee and other human rights, saving a railway... I love trying and learning about new things. And I yearn, in my quiet times, for someone to share it all with. I left a r'ship three years ago - I adored him but couldn't work out how to deal with his anger, and neither could he. I've been waiting to be ready to try again. I'm ready now.

What I'm looking for

Clever, creative, thoughtful, educated, fit, active, to the left in politics - someone I can admire as well as appreciate for your human qualities of kindness & emotional generosity. Its OK, you can be human too, with human foibles like we all have. On the superficial side: I do like a snappy dresse

My interests

Very eclectic, classical to Indie and all in-between... and glad to be guided. I know that I can always drop into the Lass O'Gowrie on a Friday or Saturday and have a great contemporary music experience!
Psychology texts and fiction - good fiction. Hilary Mantel, Lionel Shriver, Emma Donohue ('Room' was brilliantly imagined and rendered), Adam Johnston's "Orphan Master's Son", Graham Greene and Robertson Davies are old favourites. William Dalrymple's travel books about india. Good Food Guide (:
Movies & TV
ABC, SBS, HBO. Love a clever movie (fiction or doco) with interesting premise, great script, evocative cinematography etc. Newcastle Film Society is an excellent provider of these - particularly last year! Modern Family and The Insiders (ABC's political roundup), 4 Corners, Insight etc
Not much into watching. Football (European style) is the one I find most compelling to watch, with all the fancy footwork. I am very tolerant of other's needs to soak up every ball game. I don't play any sports at the moment, unless 'Just Dance' qualifies! But I exercise most days.
Other Interests
I'm really into and closely follow conceptual contemporary art: what you might see at Biennale of Sydney, MCA, GOMA in Brisbane, MONA in Hobart, Venice Biennale (now that is FUN), MOMA New York, and at the Lock--up in Newcastle. Architecture. Exploring. Travelling. Food food food. New expe
